Ok God, what am I supposed to do now? What does God want from UTRI? These questions run through my head all the time. And every time they run through my head I quote Deuteronomy.
For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. “It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ “Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.
The next thought I seem to have is not simple faith, rather doubt. I doubt the truth of this His word. I think, “yeah, but I need to know something I do not know.” Then, Samuel’s parents come to mind. They were not given great detail about what they are supposed to do. They told to do a couple of things and to live life. This always gets me. I know God has all things worked out. I know God has prepared a way. Just because it has been a while since He spoke does not mean He has changed His mind. He does not get confused by time. (That’s what we do.)
God has a plan. He has a way. He has prepared everything. When we don’t know what to do we are supposed to continue on with what we are currently doing. When we are in this place of confusion we have a great opportunity. Our faith will grow. Our faith will be stretched as we wait on God. Our faith will be increased when we are forced to wait on Him. This is what I tell myself. Sometimes it is easy to deal with. Other times it is not so easy, but every time God is faithful. The thing I keep coming back to is that God never fails. He is always there. We can trust Him. He does look out for us. Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding.
